1. Model number and parameters of the sprocket:
Sprocket model number: contains non-standard sprocket (customized according to customer drawings), standard sprocket (American Standard and metric). Sprocket diameter is often between 50mm-2000mm.
The calculation formula of sprocket parameters:
Pitch circle diameter: d=p/sin180°/z
Addendum circle (OD): D=p * (0.54+cot180°/z)
Note: P = chain pitch, common sprocket pitch: 3/8=9.525 1/2=12.7 5/8=15.875 3/4=19.05
Z = the teeth number of sprocket
d= the chain roller diameter
2. Choose the sprocket material
Tablets type sprocket does not need heat treatment, can use Q235, Q345 (16Mn), or 10, 20 steel manufacturing. General hardness below HBl40,suitable for medium speed, medium power and a larger sprocket .Chain wheel heat treatment requirements generally use 45 steel, 45 steel forging, 45 cast steel or 4OCr steel processing.
Processing important occasions suitable for high stress and high strength chains supporting the main, driven sprocket production.The main application requirements is not high or complex shape on the precision parts,such as ring sprocket.
